Mr. James Charney, 82, of West Kittanning passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on May 4, 1935, in Ford City, to the late John P. and Anna E. (Ondo) Charney.
James previously worked for Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh and had 30 years of service for PPG in Ford City.
He was an U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict as well as in Germany and Alaska
He was a member of St. Mary Our Lady Of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning.
Mr. Charney enjoyed working around his house, making a garden, and shopping.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory sisters, Joanne Reed of Fenelton and Esther Irvine of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, John A. Charney; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Per Jim’s wishes there were no viewing or public services. He was laid to rest on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rayburn Township. Arrangements have been entrusted to Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
