Janet Louise (Roofner) Garner, 80, passed away at her home in East Kittanning on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, after a two-year battle with lung cancer. She was born on April 19, 1936, in Kittanning to Albert and Jennie (Gould) Roofner. She was married to her lifelong husband, William Leroy Garner. Janet was a devoted mother and wife, who dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends, loved dancing to country music, and playing cards at the Senior Center. She was also a very active member of the Union Avenue Methodist Church and the UMW.  Janet is survived by her children, William R. Garner and wife, Joan, Brenda S. St. Amand and husband, Paul, and James S. Garner and wife, Angela; grandchildren, Christopher Daniel Rhea, Joshua Garner, Brian Adams, Jessica Adams, Michael Brink, Breanna Garner, Kierstin Garner; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Daniel Rhea Jr. and Katelyn Burelison.  Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Leroy Garner; and brother, Albert Roofner.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Snyder Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at the Union Avenue United Methodist Church, 421 Union Ave., Kittanning with Pastor Thom Bonomo officiating. Interment will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates.  Memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s honor to the ACMH Fund, 1 Nolte Drive, Kittanning, Pa. 16201, with Cancer Center Assistance Fund listed in the memo portion.
