Edward B. Wilson, 89, of Cowansville, died on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, in Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born June 18, 1928, in Freeport, to the late Edward L. and Lydia (Younkins) Wilson.
Edward was a truck driver and an U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 325 in Cowansville. He enjoyed camping, the outdoors, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Wilson leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Kathy Crissman of Ford City; son, Dennis Wilson and wife, Rhonda, of Cowansville; daughter, Carol Myers and husband, LeRoy, of Cowansville; and daughter, Judy Marshall of Indiana, Pa.; grandchildren, Kimberly Fennell and husband, William, of Karns City; Amy Bowser of East Brady; Roger Crissman and wife, Becky, of Cowansville; Shawnee Atkinson and husband, Tom Stennett, of Worthington; Dawn Atkinson of West Kittanning; Crystal Potocnak and husband, Chris, of Ford City; Katrina Long of Kittanning; Kiersten Crissman of Kittanning; Perry Crissman, Jr. of Whitesburg; Edward D. Wilson of Kittanning; Michael Wilson of Kittanning; Justin Wilson of Kittanning; and Dennis “Boo” Wilson, Jr. of Cowansville; step grandchildren, Peggy Marshall, Tammy Marshall, Daniel Marshall, Gerald Marshall, Marilyn Laird, Brandy Lloyd, and Ethan Hopper; 44 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister in-law, Shirley Wilson of Cowansville; sister- in-law, Helen Wilson of Adrian; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esther E. Wilson on Feb. 11, 2011; daughter, Jody Renee Wilson on Aug. 25, 1968; brothers, Charles, Paul, Donald, and Woodrow Wilson; and sisters, Vernebelle Durst and Lulu Wilson.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Pete Sapp will be officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Worthington Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
