Grover “Bo” Walker, 93, of Templeton died on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, in Grey’s Colonial Acres. He was born on Dec. 6, 1923, in Templeton, to the late Edward and Hazel (Farster) Walker. Bo retired from Eljer in Ford City and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific. He was a seaman first class serving on the USS Centaurus, USS Virgo, and USS Tranquility and earning the Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific 5 stars. He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ford City and he enjoyed gardening and fishing. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Shirley (Joe) Bish of Kellersburg; son, Charles (Bonnie) Walker of Fremont, Ohio; daughter, Diane (Rick) Fox of Templeton; son, Douglas (Heather) Walker of Rural Valley; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy (Peg) Walker of Templeton; and sister-in-law, Lois Walker, of Valparaiso, Indiana. Bo was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois (Fyock) Walker; brother, Daryl Walker; and sister, Vivian Wyant. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning from 4 until 8 p.m. Additional viewing will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. James Swogger officiating. Burial will follow in Cochran Cemetery, Templeton.
