James William Gibson, 94, of Kittanning, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, died Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 11, 1914, in Kittanning, died James Imbry and Anna (Croyle) Gibson. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He attended First Baptist Church in Kittanning. He was a member of Baraca Bible class, Pairs & Spares Club, member of American Ceramics Society and was one of the original members of the Municipal Authority of Kittanning Borough. He loved sports, traveling and playing with his grandchildren. Jim was employed in the Brick Industry locally until 1958 as a supervisor at Kittanning Refractories, then with Combustion Engineering, traveling extensively throughout the Eastern United States until his retirement in 1983. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, June (Montgomery) Gibson; son, James Edward (Linda) Gibson, of Pataskala, Ohio; four grandchildren, James Mark (Lori) Gibson, of Pataskala, Ohio, Jeffrey Scott (Camilla) Gibson, of Canton, Ohio, Bethaney Nicole Tessitore, of Decatur, Ala., and Joshua Michael Tessitore, of Fort Hood, Texas, who is also an Iraq veteran; son-in-law, Ted Michael Tessitore, of Houston, Texas; great-granddaughter, Jamie Lee Gibson; great-grandson, Waylon Daniel Johnson-Tessitore; and two great-granddaughters, Wendy Denise Johnson-Tessitore and Whitley (Bailey) Danielle Johnson-Tessitore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Jo Tessitore; sister, Bernice Zeigler; and infant granddaughter, Angela Michelle Tessitore. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with one hour of visitation prior to the service in First Baptist Church, Kittanning, with the Rev. A. David Meneely, his pastor, officiating. Interment in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
