Lionel "Leo" Chasse, 89, of Bridgeburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Concordia in Cabot. Born Nov. 30, 1925, in Maine, he was a son of the late Thomas and Lizzanne (Coreavue) Chasse. He was retired as a foreman at Agway Fertilizer in Tarrtown after 40 years of service. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the Navy in the South Pacific and was a longtime member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kittanning. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and yardwork. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marlene (Luke) Chasse, who he married Nov. 6, 1954; daughter, Debra Fry (Bill Moorhead) and his children, Kayla, Kelsea, Kendra, Kiera and granddaughter, Laikyn, of Kittanning; son, Douglas Chasse (Darcy), of Kittanning; grandchildren, Brian Crissman (Leah) and Corey Chasse; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Marcella Levesque, of Connecticut. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford, Romeo and Edmund Chasse; sisters, Blanche Lagasse, Gertrude Lapointe and Anita Faucher; father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Velma Luke. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, in Kittanning. Additional viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kittanning, where services will follow at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Kittanning Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Leo's memory to St. John's Lutheran Church in Kittanning.
