Ralph W. Custer, 83, of Worthington died on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, in the Kittanning Care Center.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1933, in New Parrish, to the late Charles and Rosie (Felix) Custer.

Ralph formerly owned the Worthington Garage, where he was an inspection mechanic. He was also a farmer.

He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Ralph was a member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed hunting, canning, yard work, and especially gardening. He also loved spending time with his grandkids.

Ralph leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Ann (Shaffer) Custer; daughters, Suzan Tarr and husband, Richard of Worthington and Michelle Norman of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Isaacson and husband, Jeremy, Sara Tarr, Ricky Tarr and wife, Reba, Nick Custer and wife, Stephanie, and Zachary Custer; one great-granddaughter, Belle Isaacson; and one brother, Douglas Custer of Shellsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Nathan Custer, one brother; and three sisters.

There will be no viewing for Mr. Custer and private services will be held. Burial will be in the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington
