William Thomas Grates, 67, of Worthington, died on Sunday Jan. 14, 2018, at his residence. He was born Feb. 23, 1950, in Kittanning to the late William Joseph & EmiJean Delores (Lloyd) Grates. Mr. Grates was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Kittanning Men’s Club and VFW. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, hunting, four wheeling, riding motorcycles, going to Parts-A-Rama with his brother-in-law, antique cars and flea markets. William leaves behind to cherish his memory: His wife, Jackie Grates of Worthington; daughter, Kimberly Placek of Belleview, Fla.; two granddaughters, Misty (Marcus) Zeigler, of Worthington, and Jessica (Matthew) Marold of Ocklawaha, Fla.; two great grandchildren, Thomas and Austin Zeigler of Worthington, and Maysin Marold of Ocklawaha, Fla.; and three sisters, Trish (Nute) McGinnis, of Kittanning, Betty Jean Anthony, of New Bethlehem, and Debra Gail Grates of Kittanning. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Michael and Ken “PeeWee,” and a sister, Lynn. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday Jan. 17, 2018, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7 p.m.
