William W. "Abe" Stephens

William W. “Abe” Stephens, 77, of Kittanning died Wednesday July 27, 2016 at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.  He was born on June 10, 1939 in Kittanning to the late Harvey Eugene and Alberta Mae (Rhodes) Stephens.  Mr. Stephens worked as a laborer in the Local 1058, and previously owned A&C Variety Store.  A life member of Kittanning Hose Co. 1, he also was a member of the NRA.  He loved hunting, fishing, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and NASCAR. He especially loved to spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He was a lifelong resident of Kittanning.  Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carolyn F. (Lamison) Stephens of Kittanning, whom he married on June 6, 1959; daughter, Susan D. (Terry) Livengood, son, William M. (Sherry) Stephens, daughter, Toni (Glenn) Livengood, daughter, Tammy Stephens, and son, James E. (Brenda) Stephens, all of Kittanning; grandson, Todd Livengood and companion Stacey of Kittanning, granddaughter, Laken (Ben) Ingram of Adrian, and grandson, Chase (Ashley) Stephens of Sarver; eight great-grandchildren, Kolltyn Livengood, Kameryn Livengood, Isla Livengood, Adrie Livengood, Brea Ingram, Hunter Ingram, Lexi Ingram, and Berkley Stephens; sister, Tillie Mae Anderson and companion, Beck Beckwith of Kittanning; sister in law, Sandy Stephens of Ford City; nephews, Carl “Pudge” Stephens, Gene Stephens, Jeff Stephens, Brian Stephens, Keith Peters, and Rodney Pinkerton; nieces, Betsy Anderson, Cindy Smith, Vic Smeltzer, Nancy Crissman, and Brenda Howard; and good friend, Bob Good.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Emogene Pinkerton; brothers, Chuck Stephens and Carl “Skeets” Stephens; sister, Sandy Stephens; grandson, Michael Stephens; and niece, Chris Slee.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St. Kittanning, where a fireman’s service will be held at 7 p.m. Services will held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. John W. Snyder officiating. Interment will be in Pine Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
